Mark Philippi, CSCS
Owner
Mark is a nationally recognized Strength and Conditioning coach who in his 17 years of experience has helped over 4,000 athletes in 17 different sports achieve their sports performance goals.
Athletes who have trained under his direction include Jason Giambi, Montell Griffith, Mike Wahle, Shawn Marion, Marcus Banks, Jon Drummond, Sam Brandon, Mike Flanagan, Lori Harrigan, Chris Byrd, Kylie Wong and Renaldo Wynn.
Mark won the National & World Drug Free Power Lifting championship in 1993, Won America’s Strongest Man in 1997, has appeared in the World’s Strongest Man contest seven times, has written or appeared in articles that have appeared in Sports Illustrated, Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness and the New York Daily news. He has lectured all over North America on Coaching, Motivation, Strength Training, and Conditioning. Mark has been an instructor and designed an Academic Strength Curriculum at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Mark has written for, and been featured in, Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, Muscle and Fitness, Sports Illustrated, Las Vegas Life, Ironmind and Powerlifting USA.
Tracey Philippi
Owner, BSN RN, AFPA, Apex Certified Nutrition Coach
Tracey has 12 years experience in cardiac wellness and rehabilitation. A registered nurse, she is certified to train special populations through the American Fitness Professionals Association (AFPA) and directs the training of special populations at PSI. Tracey also directs the diet, nutrition, and sports supplementation program at PSI. As part of the sports supplementation program, she has implemented a Spectracell anti-oxidant blood-testing program to check anti-oxidant levels at the cellular level in the body. Tracey has an extensive background in athletics and aerobic conditioning.

Alonzo Freeman, CSCS, NASM, MS
Facility Director
Alonzo is responsible for all facets of the PSI operation including program design, training, scheduling, staff education, and facility upkeep. He combines both athletic and academic experience being a former standout UNLV linebacker and earning both his BS and MS in the Kinesiology field at the university. Alonzo has a wealth of experience and knowledge training athletes of all types to improve their performance.

Dr. Aric Cruz, DC, CSCS
Director of Therapy Clinic
Dr. Aric Cruz directs the therapy clinic at PSI. Dr. Cruz has experience treating athletes of all ages and experience levels. In addition to treating collegiate athletes at Stanford and UNLV, Dr Cruz has treated athletes from: MLB, NBA, NFL, CFL, AFL, NHL, PGA, MMA, boxing, Olympic teams, and International Strongman Competitions. A Chiropractic Physician and a Certified Strength coach Dr. Cruz utilizes many recovery techniques during his practice including Neuromuscular Re-education, Kinesiotaping, and cold laser technology.

Mike Tran, CSCS
Performance Coach
Mike has been with PSI since it has been open and has vast experience in all facets of the facility including performance training, intern education program, workout performance tracking, and facility maintenance. Mike earned his BS in Kinesiology from UNLV in 2007.

Jay Staggs
Performance Coach
Jay was a standout safety for the UNLV rebel football team until 2006. He signed with the Chicago Bears in 2007, and Montreal of the CFL in 2008. Jay was arguably one of the hardest working Rebels to put on a uniform and made himself into one of the best safeties in the nation. Jay has also coached high school football and is available for Defensive Back technique classes.

Jessie Woodruff, CSCS
Jessie started as an intern at PSI and has been with the institute since 2007. Jessie has his BS in Kinesiology form UNLV and in addition to training athletes he helps to coordinate the special populations program at PSI and helps with offsite training services.
